She has worked in the industry for almost 30 years, with former roles including (3 x) Chief Reporter for Radio New Zealand and senior television journalist for TVNZ.
She has also received NZonAIR funding for a documentary on workplace stress and self-funded 'Our Bloodiest Day', the story of New Zealand's involvement in the Battle off Passchendaele.
Lauren has three Qantas Media Awards under her belt, including Reporter of the Year, a media peace prize, and is one of only eight New Zealand journalists to win a fellowship to the Carter Centre in America.
She still tutors up and coming journalists at the New Zealand Broadcasting School. Lauren can match her writing style to any project or task, whether website, annual report, staff newsletter, media release, or flyer.
She writes on a range of subjects turning specialist subjects into language for lay people. She has a particular understanding and appreciation of the needs of the Agricultural, Scientific and local Government sectors.
Lauren has also been successfully writing strategy and implementing communications plans for clients in government departments, research organisations and territorial authorities for many years.
Throughout her considerable media experience, Lauren has built an extensive network of contacts.
She knows a good story, what will sell and how to sell it! Lauren recently wrote and managed the design and print of a gold medal entry in the 2008 Pride 'N' Print Awards.
She is currently chronicalling the 'untold stories' of the 845 New Zealanders killed during 'Our Bloodiest Day'.
Lauren's networks and visual storytelling skills can also be invaluable, not only for clients seeking television coverage, but also in a world where the internet offers unparalleled opportunities to communicate directly with customers and others, through the most effective medium there is - video.
Being a skilled, experienced, broadcasting journalist means she is able to communicate complex and highly technical information in language easy to understand.
